Goal

The document aims to underline the requirements associated with student exchange and credit recognition between Jeonnam State University and universities, both Korean and international.

Scope

Credit exchange regulation is applied to students in exchange learning programs under the academic exchange agreements signed between Jeonnam State University and other universities, while the pedagogical methods of the universities follow Article 22 (Classes, etc.) of the Higher Education Act.

Definition

1. Exchange students from JPC: Students from Jeonnam State University learning in other universities in Korea and abroad

2. Exchange students from other universities: Students from other universities in Korea and abroad learning at Jeonnam State University

Credit and Semester Recognition

Credits acquired through the academic exchange agreements are recognized within the scope of relevant regulations in the university. Semesters are not recognized in a duplicitous manner.

Requirements	Foreign students who wish to study at Jeonnam State University must fulfill the following conditions. 1. Able to receive instructions in the Korean language 2. No history of academic penalties or violations
Enrollment Period	The enrollment period for foreign students is determined by agreements.
Application Documents and Enrollment Approval	① Foreign students who wish to enroll at Jeonnam State University must submit the following documents. 1. Application form, one document 2. Supervising professor or department head recommendation letter (including certified translation), one document 3. Academic transcript (including certified translation), one document 4. Learning plan, one document 5. Other documentation ② The selection of foreign exchange students must acquire the approval of the university president through the department involved in the exchange.
Courses	The number of courses that a student can take shall be within the limits imposed by the credit requirements of the year, within the courses established by the department.

Adherence to Student Regulation

All foreign exchange students are required to adhere to the student regulations of this university. Failure to do so can result in the revocation of enrollment.

- Meals are not included.

- Dormitory rooms include a desk, chair, cabinet, bed, shoe rack, bookcase, and Internet connection.

※ Dormitories are not offered with beddings. Students are asked to supply their beddings and pillow.

- Shared Facilities: Shower, reading room, fitness center, laundromat

- Notes: Fire, smoking, drinking, and cooking are prohibited within the dormitory. Failure to adhere to this rule can result in the student being immediately evicted from the dormitory.

Insurance

1. Amount

- Private companies: KRW 110,000 per year, KRW 60,000 per semester (present)

- National Health Insurance: KRW 50,000 and above (within the next few years)

2. Items Insured:

Treatment, medical costs, surgeries, in-patient stays, and other items in general hospitals (insurance unavailable for cosmetics, dermatological treatments, dentistry, etc.)Regardless of their home country’s insurances, all exchange students are required to enroll in insurance programs in Korea after their entry. Accidents associated with motorcycle use are not insured.
